Objetivo:

Reforçar a investigação, o desenvolvimento tecnológico e a inovação.

Resumo/Summary:

In this project, drug nanocarriers based in magnetoliposomes will be developed for application in dual cancer therapy, combining the potential of chemotherapy and magnetic hyperthermia in a single nanosystem. Biocompatible magnetic nanoparticles will be prepared and incorporated into liposomes. Both solid and aqueous magnetoliposomes will be obtained.
New drug candidates with promising antitumor activity will be incorporated in magnetoliposomes. The antitumor potential of drug loaded magnetoliposomes will be evaluated in human tumor cell lines, as well as the toxicity for non-tumor cells.
The ultimate goal is to obtain multifunctional nanosystems with optimized drug delivery and local heating capabilities, for dual cancer therapy.
