Currículo Resumido / Short resume

Orfeu Bertolami obteve o seu doutoramento na Universidade de Oxford em 1987. Trabalhou no Institut fuer Theoretische Physik em Heidelberg (1987-1989), no Instituto de Física e Matemática em Lisboa (1989-1991), na Divisão Teórica do CERN (1993-1995), no Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN), Torino (1994-1995), no Departamento de Física do Instituto Superior Técnico (1991-2010) e na Universidade de Nova Iorque em 1999. Obteve o terceiro Prémio da Gravity Research Foundation em 1999, o Prémio União Latina em 2001, Prémio de Excelência Científica Santander/Totta 2007 e a distinção de Outstanding Referee do Physical Review em 2013. Escreveu mais de 300 artigos, 190 dos quais em revistas internacionais com arbitragem, e 4 livros. É professor catedrático no Departamento de Física e Astronomia da Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto desde 2010.

Orfeu Bertolami got his PH. D. at the University of Oxford in 1987. He worked in the Institut fuer Theoretische Physik em Heidelberg (1987-1989), in the Instituto de Física e Matemática in Lisbon (1989-1991), at CERN’s Theory Division (1993-1995), in Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN), Torino (1994-1995), in the Departamento de Física do Instituto Superior Técnico (1991-2010) and in the New York University in 1999. He was awared the Third Gravity Research Foundation Prize in 1999, the União Latina Prize em 2001, the Scientific Excellence Prize Santander/Totta 2007 and the Outstanding Referee Prize of the Physical Review in 2013. He has authored more than 300 papers, 190 of which in international refereed journals, and 4 books. He is full professor at the Departamento de Física e Astronomia da Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto since 2010.
